The Importance of Search Marketing - Internet Search Marketing

internet search marketing

By Lea Loana Roelz

In the past years the Internet has become increasingly popular and is now an essential part of our daily life. With its popularity steadily increasing companies realised this new and untouched opportunity to win new clients and started moving their business online.

About three years ago a new industry sector evolved as a result of the growing web: Search Engine Marketing (internet search marketing).

Search gurus nowadays spread the message that search has already overtaken print and radio advertising and television advertising is apparently steadily losing its importance. According to them most marketing budgets will be spend online.

Sure, the return on investment (ROI) in search marketing (internet search marketing) is amazing and the costs per new costumer are lower as with 'classical' advertising, direct marketing or yellow pages. However, search engine marketing alone won’t be as efficient. Integrated in a healthy marketing mix, conventional marketing can add a huge boost to search marketing and other marketing channels, and hence push you company’s success.

Now, let us take a closer look at search engine marketing (internet search marketing). There are two main sections: ‘organic’ and paid marketing. ‘Organic’, or 'Natural' refers to the results down the left hand side/center of the search engine's result pages. You can’t influence the ranking directly, but optimising your website can push your position higher.

The results you are able to influence are the ones to the top or down the right hand side of the result pages in most search engines, such as Google, stated often as ‘sponsored links’. These are referred to as pay-per-click (PPC) adverts. Every single click the advert receives will require the advertiser to pay. The more you are willing to pay per Click the higher the ad will appear if a particular keyword is entered. As you can imagine the prices for the top keywords, such as ‘car insurance’, are enormous.

Finally, a good mix of paid and ‘organic’ online marketing in combination with conventional advertising is the best solution to push your business efficiently.

How to Optimize Your Internet Marketing Article for Search Engine Ranking - Internet Search Marketing

internet search marketing

By crissanteiro

Optimizing your internet marketing articles is the key to getting to the top in the search engine results. Learn how to optimize your articles effectively.

Step 1
Internet marketing articles are used to promote products and services on the internet. People write articles to advertise specific products. The articles usually contain information which is relevant to their product, but not necessarily about the product itself. When you write about a specific product, that would be considered a product review.

The purpose of internet marketing articles is to drive traffic to the product website. In order to do this there are things to take into consideration to make your article more visible to the search engines in order to be moved up the ranks and consequently drive more traffic to your website . This is called Search Engine Optimization or “SEO”. SEO is an internet marketing strategy that takes into consideration what the search engines use to rank articles, as well as what people are looking for in their searches.

What we want to accomplish with search engine optimization is to be at the top of the organic, or unpaid, search results of the search engines. That is our goal. This is where we will stand to make the most profit from our internet marketing articles.

So how do we optimize our internet marketing articles for the search engines?

Step 2

We need to make our internet marketing articles as targeted as possible. This way they are easily picked up and categorized by the search engines.

• Keywords are what tell the search engines what your article is about, so they can put your article in the right category. These are the words that you are going to use to build your article around.

• You have to find the keywords that people are using to search for the specific products on the internet. You want to have keywords in your articles that are going to bring back search results. The more people that search for your chosen keyword in your article, the more chances of exposure your article has.

• Your internet marketing article should be researched for keywords that will have a chance to rank high. This depends not only on the number of searches for a keyword, but also in the amount of competition that it has as well. Even if a word has many searches, it is better to stay away from those keywords that are very general and have a lot of competition. It will be very hard to rank in the first page for such words.

• Preferably choose keywords that have at least 1000 monthly searches and under 35,000 competing results. You will need a keyword tool to research your keywords.

Step 3

• Include your keyword in the title of your article, as well as your first sentence and the last sentence of your last paragraph of your internet marketing article. You may sprinkle it throughout the article, but don’t overdo it. The article should read well.

• Also include your keyword in your article summary. This is the blurb that will be visible in the search results of the search engines. This summary should entice the reader to click through to your article.

• Use your keyword in the anchor text links to your product. In other words if your keyword is “dog training” that is the word that you should make as anchor text to click to get to your product website.

Step 4

The search engines need to know that our articles are popular, in order to rank them higher.

• Backlinks are links that point back to your internet marketing articles. These backlinks can be from many different websites. The more backlinks you have, the more popular your article is in the eyes of the search engines because it tells them that other websites are interested in you. This is important to the search engines, as they want to provide their customers with the best content.

• Backlinks from higher page ranks and more established sites are more powerful than from lower ranking websites and will help your article move up farther in the search engine rankings.

• Create backlinks by visiting blogs in your niche and making valuable posts. You then leave a link back to your article or website, along with your post. Niche-related links are more effective than backlinks from non-related niches.

• Post your internet marketing articles in social bookmarking sites, and soon you will have other blogs linking to your articles, if you are providing value. This can create an invaluable amount of backlinks.

Step 5

Content refers to the value of your article. You should always provide great information for your readers. This is the first step in getting the search engines to look at your internet marketing articles. No matter how much keyword research and other strategies you are applying, content is king. No search engine will have your article on top if you are not providing useful information that their readers will want.

Tips & Warnings

- Make your internet marketing articles powerful. Why not optimize them to the fullest? Use every single strategy above. Don’t leave any stones unturned, and you will have the attention of the search engines.

- Optimize even more by turning your internet marketing articles into videos, with one click. Get more traffic and more backlinks. See resource below.

How to Profit from an Internet Marketing Course

internet search marketing

By David Thompson

Internet marketing courses claim to reveal secrets to online advertising, profitable websites, affiliate marketing, and many other ways to use the internet to make money. But will taking an internet marketing course really make you rich? Or even help you make a small profit and a little cash?

Remember, while you're looking for the best internet marketing course to take, each company that sells a course is marketing to you. You can learn as much from how the course is marketed, as you can from the course itself.

1. Search online for internet marketing courses and notice the results that catch your eye. You want to make a profit on the internet, but so do thousands of other people, and those who offer internet marketing courses are all scrambling for your attention. Which ones won? Think about what words you used to search, and which listings caught your eye. Did you click on paid ads, or unpaid search engine results? Perhaps you went through several steps, clicking on an interesting blog, then another site the blog referred you to, then the internet marketing course's homepage. Or maybe you clicked directly from a search engine listing.

2. Figure out how the successful internet marketing courses got links placed where they did. For example, if you clicked on a keyword ad, you can estimate what keywords they used and how much they paid for each click by going to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and typing keywords such as "online internet marketing course" and choosing to display the column "estimated avg. CPC" or cost per click. You can also see how often people searched for the same phrase you did.

If you saw their web page listed among the first few Google search results, it cost them nothing, but they used excellent SEO (search engine optimization) techniques. There are many free articles on the web explaining the numerous complex factors that a company can use to optimize its web page for search engines.

If you found them through a blog, does it look like the company itself writes the blog? Or perhaps they traded links with the blog owner, and you'll find the blog linked on the course's web page. All those are techniques that you can use yourself to market your own business on the internet, and you can see which companies used them most successfully by seeing which internet marketing courses you clicked on first.

3. Read the information for a few of the internet marketing courses that seem most attractive, and pretend the copy writer was marketing whatever you're selling. What particular phrases or promises make you want to sign up the most? What turns you off? What keeps you reading? Imagine how you could apply those same sales techniques to what you want to sell.

4. Sign up for the internet marketing course that entices you most. It might even be a free, and if so, figure out how the company makes a profit. Maybe they try to sell you an advanced course, or have software or web hosting for sale for your business, or put ads on their web pages or use affiliate links.

5. As you take the course, continue to think about each step just as you've done above. Don't just study the lesson, also study how the company is marketing itself to you. If it's a successful company that profits from offering internet marketing courses, you can see all the techniques in action in the company's presence, from your first contact with them through each email or web page of theirs that you see, and you can apply those techniques to your own business, to bring in customers just as the online marketing course enticed you to be their customer.

Internet search engine marketing (internet search marketing) involves the use of search engines to market and promote your business. The first step for internet search engine marketing (internet search marketing) is to make sure that your website is chock full of high quality information. Content is king of the internet and the more high quality content that you provide, the more traffic pulling power you will have with the search engines. One rule of thumb is to make sure your content is short in order to maintain the attention of the reader.

The second step in internet search engine marketing (internet search marketing) is to optimize your website content via search engine optimization strategies. The key thing to do in this step is to tweak your web pages content so that your site ranks within the search engines for certain keywords in your target market. You at least want to shoot for a keyword density of 2% to 3% on each page in order to improve your rankings for your selected keywords. This is a very important step in order to reap the long term traffic benefits from internet search engine marketing.

The third step for internet search engine marketing (internet search marketing) involves the tactic of pay per click marketing. In ppc marketing, you can bid for certain keywords in order to increase the exposure of your website within the search engines. The fourth step to internet search engine marketing (internet search marketing) involves the submission of your website url to a bunch of the search directories and web directories online. This will improve the number of one way backlinks to your website, thus improving your search engine ranking.

The fifth step of internet search engine marketing (internet search marketing) involves the continual building of one way back links to your website. A few of the great ways to build backlinks to your website is via submitting blog comments, forum postings, articles, and blog trackbacks. How to Conduct Effective Search Engine Marketing Using Keywords

internet search marketing

By eHow Contributing Writer

To market your Web site effectively online, be sure your site is easily found in search engines. To conduct effective Search Engine Marketing, there are steps that you must take.

Step 1
Plan your strategy. Choose to begin with a wide variety of search terms and then narrow it down, or use a few select keywords and gradually expand as your budget allows.

Step 2
Use relevant keywords. Think like your customers and use the keywords and phrases they use when searching rather than the words you use to sell your product.

Step 3
Pay attention to anything that might change what people search for, such as current events. If your keyword is suddenly popular with a very different audience, sales from click-throughs will decrease.

Step 4
Look for changes in search patterns and adjust your marketing accordingly. Keep track of what your customers search for when on your site.

Step 5
Track your ads to know which keywords are the most effective on a given search engine and market accordingly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use relevant keywords and key phrases.
  • Plan your marketing based on what your customers are looking for when using search engines.
  • Watch out for click fraud. Software, and even hired teams, may be brought in by your competitors to generate clicks and drive up the cost of advertising.

How to Use Yahoo! Search Marketing to Find the Right Keywords

internet search marketing

By eHow Contributing Writer

If you use great keywords, your Web site will attract more hits. But if you want to attract more targeted visitors, you need to use the right keywords.

How do you know you’re using the best possible keywords? You take a look at your product or service and the customers you’re trying to reach. In just a few easy steps, you’ll be on your way to getting the most out of your site.

Step 1
Search your Web site as if you were a customer. Make a list of the most interesting and relevant points offered.

Step 2
Generate keywords based on your list.

Step 3
Check your server logs to verify the topics you focused on match those for which your customers looked. Connect to Yahoo! Search Marketing’s (previously Overture's) search tool.

Step 4
Enter your terms (one at a time) into the Keyword Selector Tool to bring up related search terms and to see how often the searches for each term were performed.

Step 5
Select a returned search term by clicking on it to further narrow the term. Each time you select a term to narrow the search, you will get a number of times that the term was placed in a search engine.

Step 6
Use your keywords, alone and in combination, to create a targeted ad that will draw customers to your site.

Tips & Warnings

# Always keep your customers in mind when you generate keywords.
# Make sure your keywords accurately describe your products and services.
# Use keywords that are as specific as possible.
# Using keywords that are not relevant to your site will alienate potential customers.

How to improve internet search marketing strategies

internet search marketing

By StreetBloggers

Six Search Engine Marketing Strategies. Search engine marketing involves keeping your content fresh, using keywords that put you at the top of the first page and obtaining as many links to your site from other websites as possible.

1. Search engines love updated content. Pay attention to which sites show on the first page and you will notice that among the sites in keyword competition, it is the sites with the most updated content that win out. Either write your own articles and upload your own graphics and photos or outsource the job to freelancers.

There are many freelancers who write for reasonable rates. With one good writer or writing team, you can improve your site's rankings dramatically. Make sure the writer you choose understands SEO.

2. Keyword strategies include going for those people who instead of searching for 'weight loss' search for 'how to lose 20 pounds fast' and other more specific terms. Do not stuff your pages with keywords. The recommended density of keywords is between 2 and 3 percent of the text on your page.

Excessive keyword phrases are not only recognizable to search engines as 'stuffing', they can ultimately affect the quality of the writing. This is where LSI comes in. LSI involves using phrases that are synonymous with your original keyword phrase. Learn about LSI!

3. The more relevant sites that link to your page, the better your rankings will be. For example, if you sell creative scrap booking products, try putting links about your self-designed scrap booking pages on sites that instruct people on how to scrap book. This is one way of 'piggy backing' on the keywords used by other sites.

Write your own articles or have a freelance writer write some for you. Submit them to article directories and allow other sites to use them providing they leave the resource box or by-line connected to the article. It is a 'scratch my back and I'll scratch yours' strategy and it works for both sides.

4. You can use your blog for more internet search marketing. If you update your blog daily and ping it with blog directories, you will see an increase in your blog's search engine rankings. Link to your site from your blog. This is another means of piggy backing.

5. Purchasing clicks on search engines is another strategy used in internet search marketing. This is how sites are placed in 'sponsored sites' at the very top of the page and along the right hand side on Google. Depending on the keywords you use for this strategy, you will have to pay a few pennies to several dollars in order to beat out your competition.

Yahoo allows you to set a daily maximum amount of money for clicks. If your site is brand new, try the lowest amount of money for a week or so to test how many clicks you get and how many sales you make from those clicks.

6. Monitor your site traffic on at least a weekly basis. Note how much of your traffic is coming from regular internet search engine marketing. After a couple of weeks of tracking, make small changes to optimize your site's search engine rankings. Continue looking for ways to improve on your site.

Gather all the information you can find on each of these strategies. Internet search marketing, as with all other forms of marketing, is constantly changing. Stay up to date on everything there is to know about search engine marketing and you will see your sales increase considerably!

How to Search Engine Optimization for Internet Marketing

internet search marketing

By amandalyn

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a necessary piece to any Internet search marketing campaign. If you don’t take the time to have your website optimized for search engines, then you are losing vital traffic flow to your website.

Step 1 Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a necessary piece to any Internet marketing campaign. If you don’t take the time to have your website optimized for search engines, then you are losing vital traffic flow to your website. SEO is also one of the best ways for free online advertisement for your business.

Step 2 SEO is a ranking system designed by search engines to produce the best results to a search engine keywords search. The ranking system uses an algorithm that consists of many factors and variables.

Step 3 Applying different SEO strategies can allow for a favorable ranking among the search engines. Keywords density, titles, inbound links, META Tags and keyword prominence are just the biggest factors used by search engines to rank websites, but not all the factors.

Step 4 Keywords density is how many times your keywords appear in your content. Keywords prominence is knowing how to include keywords in embedded HTML code (META Tags) and in your website content. Keywords need to be properly placed in the beginning of your website to effectively utilize the SEO advantages.

Step 5 Place inbound links on other high-ranking websites because the ranking system uses the actual ranking of the website that hosts your inbound link to determine the ranking value of your inbound link.

Step 6 Now that you understand the basic SEO concepts, you need to realize why the SEO rankings are so important. Internet users perform millions of searches on search engines every day. These users mainly only visit the top listed results to their inquiry. So, if you are not optimizing your website, you are losing not only free advertisement but the potential for unlimited web traffic.

Step 7 It is in your best interest to recruit the assistance of a SEO professional to effectively optimize your website for search engines. Just think that next time someone types in a vital keyword regarding your business, you may actually get his or her business instead of the competition.
